Kerry Ryan, Director

Kerry is an experienced non-executive director and has held roles in private, government and not-for-profit organisations. She currently sits on the board of CPA Australia and is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Kerry has over 20 years’ experience as a commercial lawyer and is a former partner of Norton Rose Fulbright. Kerry’s legal experience includes five years working in Indonesia and an in-house counsel role with Publishing and Broadcasting Limited in India.

Kerry Ryan joined the board of the Richmond Football Club in 2013 and is an inaugural director of Aligned Leisure. Kerry is also a member of the Risk, Compliance & Integrity Sub-Committee and Governance Sub-Committee of the Richmond Football Club.


Rob Dalton, Director

Rob is a Senior Audit Partner at Ernst & Young Chartered Accountants a position he has held for twenty years. Rob is Chairman of Hockey Victoria as well as a member of the Australian Sports Commission and also holds a number of other board positions in not for profit organisations including Monash University.

Rob joined the board of the Richmond Football Club in 2004, has been the Club’s Treasurer since 2009 and is an inaugural director of Aligned Leisure. Rob is currently the Chair of the Richmond Finance Committee, a member of the Audit Committee as well as the Risk, Compliance & Integrity Committee.


John O’Rourke, Director

John is the founder and Chairman of Plenary Group, a developer, investor and manager of infrastructure projects with businesses in Australia, Canada and the United States. Prior to establishing Plenary Group in 2004, John worked in investment banking with ABN Amro and BZW Australia, and prior to that held corporate finance positions with Coles Myer Ltd and Caterpillar Inc. John is also a Director and Honorary Treasurer of the Victoria Racing Club.

John joined the Board of the Richmond Football Club in 2015, is a member of the Finance Committee and is an inaugural director of Aligned Leisure.


Brendon Gale, Director

In a professional athletic career spanning 12 years, Brendon played 244 games of AFL football with the Richmond Football Club from 1990 to 2001.

Upon retirement from professional football, Brendon practiced law with commercial law firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques before being appointed CEO of the AFL Players Association in 2005.

Brendon returned to the Richmond Football Club in 2009 when he was appointed CEO.  Under Brendon’s leadership, Richmond Football Club has achieved record consumer and commercial growth and has competed in the last three AFL Finals series. Brendon was appointed to the Club’s board in 2015 and is an inaugural director of Aligned Leisure.

Brendon holds a number of directorships and also served on the Board of the Victorian Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission from 2009-2013.

Joe Powell, Director

Joe has a strong background and experience in telecommunications and online digital businesses over the past 21 years through his time at both Singtel-Optus and most recently SEEK Ltd where he was Managing Director of the Employment and Education businesses. Joe has also held corporate positions at Country Road Australia and Price Waterhouse Coopers.

He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and his previous non-Executive Director experience includes Online Education Services, IDP Education and he is currently a Director of the Migration Council Australia.

Joe Powell was appointed to the Richmond Board in February of 2017 and as a Director of Aligned Leisure from March 2017.


Cain Liddle, Managing Director

Cain brings 15 years leisure management experience to his role with Aligned Leisure. As a former manager of the Ascot Vale Leisure Centre, Cain also oversaw the management and operation of numerous other health and fitness facilities throughout Victoria and South Australia, working with up to seven different local government partners at any one time.

Cain joined the Richmond Football Club in 2010 and as Chief Customer Officer, Cain  has played a pivotal role in doubling the clubs membership numbers, increasing match day attendances and achieving record high service levels. Cain has led the clubs diversification into health, fitness and leisure management, the establishment of Aligned Leisure and the Richmond Institute of Sports Leadership.


Shane Dunne, General Manager – Operations

Shane also brings 15 leisure management experience to his role with Aligned Leisure. As a former Regional Development Manager with YMCA Victoria, Shane was responsible for the management and operations of 22 facilities in the north and west of Melbourne, regional Victoria and Adelaide. This portfolio of operations included over $200 million of assets under management, an annual turnover of $54 million and a management team of 25 who oversaw almost 1,600 staff.

Since 2014, as Business Development Manager of the Richmond Football Club, Shane has supported the clubs crowd, membership and retail strategies. He has also been responsible for the establishment of the Aligned Leisure subsidiary and the inaugural partnership with Cardinia Shire Council and the Richmond Institute of Sports Leadership.


Dr Amanda Green, General Manager – People, Culture and Performance

Amanda joined the Richmond Football Club in 2013 following a number of senior positions at leading corporate organisations such as Medibank, Australia Post, National Australia Bank and Telstra. She is an organisational psychologist with significant experience in employee engagement, organisational culture, transformational change and the development of sustainable high performance work environment’s for all employees.

Of note has been Amanda’s role in establishing the Elite Sport Male Champions of Change (ESMCC). The ESMCC consists of 14 CEOs from the largest economic-value sports in Australia including AFL, ARU, Swimming Australia, Tennis Australia, Basketball & Australian Sports Commission. Their charter is focused on increasing the representation of women in senior leadership roles under the stewardship of Elizabeth Broderick, our most recent Federal Sex Discrimination Commissioner, Australian Human Rights Commission.

In acknowledgement of these significant achievements Amanda was recognised as a finalist for the 2015 Football Woman of the Year Award.

In her role supporting Aligned Leisure, Amanda will be responsible for the effective delivery of the HR operations for employees and will help to facilitate the development of a sustainable high performance culture.
