Shane Dunne, Chief Executive Officer

Shane is an accomplished executive with over 17 years experience leading teams in sport and leisure. Shane has been responsible for the establishment of Aligned Leisure and operational performance since inception.

Since 2014, as General Manager – Aligned Leisure & Education of the Richmond Football Club, Shane has supported the clubs crowd, membership and retail strategies. He also now leads the clubs education arm, leading the establishment of the Richmond Institute of Sports Leadership.

As a former Regional Development Manager with YMCA Victoria, Shane was responsible for the management and operations of 22 facilities in the north and west of Melbourne, regional Victoria and Adelaide. This portfolio of operations included over $200 million of assets under management, an annual turnover of $54 million and a management team of 25 who oversaw almost 1,600 staff.

Slavica (Sec) Maljanek,
General Manager – Human Resources

Sec is a seasoned human resources professional with over 15 years of experience in a variety of leadership roles focusing on growing people and businesses to reach their potential. Sec has worked in education, operations, gaming, hospitality, consulting, corporate services and sport.

She has a strong track record in delivering results particularly in the areas of: strategic performance management, culture, engagement, talent and succession management, leadership development, human capital integration of M&A, workforce strategies and solutions and people leadership.

Prior to joining Richmond Football Club, Sec was the Director of Human Resources, Australasia at Korn Ferry Hay Group, a global people and organisational advisory firm. In this role she as well as being a trusted advisor to the Leadership Team she also worked with global leaders on business transformation projects focusing on culture and best practice performance management. Later she was instrumental in the human capital integration after an acquisition.

Sec has an Bachelor of Applied Science (Physical Education) and a Graduate Diploma in Management (Human Resources) and several accreditations in psychometric assessments, emotional intelligence, training and assessment and work measurement.

Hayley Lacy, Finance Manager

Hayley is a Chartered Accountant with over 16 year’s experience in a variety of accounting and tax roles. She has worked at the Richmond Football Club for 10 years overseeing many aspects of the club’s finance functions and gaining an in depth knowledge of the sport & leisure industry. During this time Richmond has achieved significant growth and diversification, and Hayley has played a pivotal role in ensuring strong financial management.

Prior to her role at Richmond Football Club, Hayley worked in professional services firms PKF Chartered Accountants and Lowe Lippmann Chartered Accountants where she managed a portfolio of clients across many industry sectors. She has also gained international experience working in senior finance and compliance roles at UK supermarket chain Sainsburys and UK based boutique women’s fashion label Radcliffe Denim.

Hayley has a Bachelor in Commerce (Accounting & Economics), Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting and in 2017 Hayley was selected to participate in the AFL Emerging Leaders Program delivered by global consulting firm Conversant.

Simon Bryson,
Cardinia Leisure Manager

Simon Bryson is a highly committed and energetic professional, passionate about shaping the future of the Leisure industry in Victoria and beyond! Simon is known for building high performance teams and creating staff culture that improves the financial and operational performance of facilities while delivering superior results for internal and external stakeholders.

Simon offers more than 15 years of Leisure Management experience with a comprehensive understanding of Business Planning, Facility Establishment and Management, Budgeting and Reporting, Human Resources, OH&S and Risk Management, Sales and Marketing, Program Development and Customer Engagement.

Across the past 5 years, Simon has been an integral part of three Greenfields projects (PARC, WLS, Aligned Leisure) and as such, is recognised as an industry leader in the planning and implementation of leisure centre operations, particularly during the establishment, pre-opening and operational phases of newly developed facilities.

Simon leads our partnership with the Cardinia Shire Council and Aligned Leisure’s strategy in Health & Fitness.

Liam O’Brien,
Nillumbik Leisure Manager

Liam O’Brien has over 17 years industry experience in the commercial and not for profit fitness and leisure industries. Prior to commencing with Aligned Leisure, Liam was the Customer Experience Manager for YMCA Victoria providing strategic support for over 30 facilities focusing on understanding customers’ needs and driving customer focused businesses. Prior to this Liam managed multiple facilities including Brunswick Baths, YMCA Derrimut and Genesis Fitness Clubs demonstrating his ability to drive different business needs whether it be community impact or striving for commercial returns. Possessing strong leadership qualities and leading teams of over 200 Liam has forged a strong reputation in the greater leisure industry as a highly skilled and experienced operator.

Having studied a Bachelor of Applied Science – Human Movement at the University of Ballarat, Liam has a strong understanding in the practical elements in the health and fitness industry and combined with strong leadership qualities and leading teams of over 200 Liam has forged a strong reputation in the greater leisure industry as a highly skilled and experienced operator.

Liam’s specialty area is Sales, Marketing and Customer Experience and leads this strategic area for Aligned Leisure providing support to all businesses in the Aligned portfolio to ensure a collective approach to understanding consumer needs and driving change. In doing so Aligned Leisure ensures to our partners we are continually attracting customers to experience what we have to offer and building strong customer experience solutions.

Liam leads our partnership with the Nillumbik Shire Council.

Ben Tudhope,
Business Development Manager

Ben Tudhope is also a veteran of more than 13 years in the health and fitness industry working across commercial, not for profit, university and local government sectors. Immediately prior to commencing at Aligned Leisure, Ben was responsible for the leadership and management responsibilities of the Active Moreland aquatic and leisure facilities in partnership with Moreland City Council. He was also the inaugural Brunswick Baths Manager opening the facility following a $19M redevelopment amidst five separate opening phases and taking the facility to unprecedented membership, swimming lessons and casual attendances.

As the Business Development Manager of Aligned Leisure, Ben’s focus is on identifying and developing strategic partnerships in the provision of programs, services and facilities under management. Ben’s specialty is in operational strategy supporting Aligned Leisure facilities under management and aquatic programming, in particular the activation of aquatic areas and continuous improvement in swimming lessons. Ben is also highly credentialed in leading and developing people, change management, program and product development and aligning local strategies to that of our partners.

Ben is a Director of Aquatics and Recreation Victoria and currently convenes its Facility Management Standing Committee as well as previously sitting on the National Aquatic Industry Safety Committee (NAISC) with Royal Life Saving Society Australia.
