POSITION PURPOSE:
This crucial role within the Aligned Leisure operations of the Cardinia Shire Major Recreation
Facilities contract will lead the implementation of tennis programs and competitions
throughout the Shire. They will work across many areas of the business to best utilise
community assets to deliver of Council plans.
They will assist with the leadership and direction of the department to ensure all Tennis staff are
relentlessly focused on the customer, engaging with all aspects of the business. Work to grow all
aspects of the business including; coaching programs, competitions, programming and secondary
service.

They will work relentlessly to support implementing the Aligned Leisure values of AWARE,
DISCIPLINED, RELENTLESS and UNITED.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Daily operations of Pakenham Regional Tennis Centre
• Ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and presentation at all times.
• Liaise with user groups and service delivery staff to direct, coordinate to ensure
that the facility is set up for programs as required.
• Assist the management of all competition tennis for Cardinia Leisure
• Control and manage all tennis memberships including member nurture program.
• Assist the management of PRTC Pro Shop and Café
• Assist the management of all function bookings and venue hire
• Assist the management of all areas within agreed annual budget.
• Maximise sales opportunities for all bookings, programs and memberships.
• Ensure the facility opens on time and programs start on time.
• Provide regular tennis information for all Cardinia Leisure communication channels.

2. Coaching and Program Development
• Delivery of tennis and other programs in accordance with annual plans.
• Conduct a range of Open Days and sampling programs to drive participation.
• Develop new programs and drive program participation for both new and existing
programs.
• Drive competition participation in line with annual plans.
• Implement and manage systems to administrate tennis programs and services.
• Drive coaching program sales.
• Work with Senior Tennis Coach and coaching team to establish program pathways.
• Conduct coaching sessions as required.

3. Secondary Services
• Assist the management of a range of secondary services including, café, bar and
retail.
• Drive and manage one off and regular event booking for the facility.
• Increase sales across all secondary services.
• Implement effective stock control systems across all secondary services.

4. Sales and Marketing
• Conduct regular marketing campaigns in accordance with annual marketing plans
established in collaboration with the Head of Tennis.
• Oversight and promotion of retail products at Cardinia facilities.
• Market tennis programs, services, memberships and offers.
• Promote and achieve annual financial year sales targets.

5. Outstanding service delivery to all customers and stakeholders
• Aligned Leisure will be renowned for delivering outstanding service and providing
memorable experiences for our customers. In your role, you will be relentless in
identifying these opportunities and you will always ask yourself “How would I want
a member of my family treated in this situation?”
• All Aligned Leisure staff will understand and deliver on our customer charter and
service promise.
• Educate and mentor customer experience staff to create great experiences for all
customers.
6. OH&S and cleaning
• Conduct daily inspections of tennis courts and surrounding areas to provide a safe
welcoming environment.
• Make sure all equipment is safe and useable for people of all ages.
• Ensure courts are clean before and after each coaching session.
• Adhere to Tennis Australia policy’s (wet weather, heat policy, code of conduct).
7. Customer Service Desk responsibilities
• Provide the frontline service for all facility programs and services.
• Proactively address all enquiries, ensuring that suitable outcomes are provided to
each individual customer.
• Look for upsell and cross sell opportunities based on individual needs.
• All administrative duties that are required as part of a successful frontline function.
• Capture all data at point of all program and service enquiries
• Identify “at risk” members and advise the Head of Tennis
• Personal follow up of non-renewals as requested by the Head of Tennis
• Personal follow up of membership questions or complaints where non-renewal
may be likely
The Tennis Captain may from time to time be required to undertake other tasks as directed
by the Head of Tennis. The Tennis Captain will also undertake regular Duty Captain and
coaching shifts.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Tennis Australia Coach member
2. Working with Children’s Check
3. Certificate IV in Sport Coaching (Junior Development).
4. Experience in Tennis Coaching and/or Management.
