About the role:

The Risk and Compliance Advisor will ensure the Richmond Football Club Group operates an effective risk management and compliance system, with particular focus on risk, quality, safety and environmental management.

The Advisor will support the implementation of Aligned Leisure’s Integrated Management System and maintain external certification to relevant standards.

Working with our teams across Australia, they will review, test, audit, monitor and report on risk management systems, including oversight of compliance to policies, procedures and processes. They will take a supportive, growth mindset approach to their work, focusing on continual improvement.

Playing a key link between the Board, Executive and operational areas of the business, they will play an important role in the overall performance of the organisation. More specifically you will be responsible for:

  • Manage the risk management and compliance system of the Richmond Football Club Group.
  • Manage all risk and compliance platforms and workflows ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Implement, monitor and review Aligned Leisure’s Integrated Management System.
  • Continuously improve Risk, Quality, Environment and OH&S Management Systems ensuring strong staff engagement and consultation.
  • Capture and monitor system performance with regular reports developed to meet various stakeholder needs.
  • Regularly engage and consult staff ensuring involvement in the improvement of management systems.
  • Provide proactive support and advice regarding changes in legislation, standards, emerging risks, and new products or services.
  • Coach and mentor staff in our risk and compliance requirements in an efficient and easy to use manner.
  • Develop and deliver training to ensure our operations are fully compliant and to support the timely reporting of incidents, root cause analysis and investigations.
  • Support teams to develop risk assessments and safe operating processes.
  • Identify opportunities for consistent and efficient practices and processes across the entire Group.
  • Attain and maintain external certification to ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 ensuring consistent practices and processes are implemented across all Aligned Leisure operations.
  • Implement an assurance plan to provide independent oversight of critical strategic risks.
  • Review and refine Aligned Leisure’s annual Compliance Plan, influencing continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience

  • At least three years’ experience in a similar position managing risk and compliance areas for a multi-faceted business.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.
  • Experience in maintaining ISO certifications for one or more of Occupational Health and Safety, Quality Management and Environmental Management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing competing demands and deadlines.
  • Experience and ability to provide coaching and mentoring to staff, with a commitment to continuous learning and development.
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management experience.
  • Strong decision-making skills, including the ability to consult and gather information, consider alternatives, communicate decisions and review outcomes promptly.
