The VFL Tigers will be on the hunt for their fourth consecutive victory when they take on Casey in Beaconsfield on Saturday 8 July.
Playing their second game for the year at their home-away-from-home, the VFL Tigers will be keen to improve on their previous visit to Holm Park Recreation Reserve, a narrow five-point loss to Werribee in Round 7.
The VFL Tigers are in a rich vein of form, having defeated Geelong, Northern Blues and Essendon in their past three outings, securing fifth on the VFL ladder in the process.
Casey, meanwhile, sit narrowly behind in seventh, trailing only by percentage after their defeat at the hands of Port Melbourne last week.
Speaking at the start of the season, Richmond CEO Brendon Gale said it was always exciting to bring VFL football to the loyal supporters of the Cardinia Shire region.
“The AFL recently provided clubs with a suburb by suburb report highlighting the strength of each club’s support across Melbourne,” Gale said.
“It was no surprise to us at Richmond that we were the best represented Club in both Cardinia and Casey, which are growth areas stemming from traditional Richmond heartland.”
Cardinia Shire Mayor Cr Brett Owen said he was thrilled the Richmond Football Club’s VFL team will be visiting the shire to play off against Casey.
“Being able to host games for the VFL at one of our own local reserves offers football fans of all ages within our community an affordable way to have a day out with friends and family, and supporting the players.”
“We’re proud of our connection with the club and it is exciting to be welcoming the Richmond VFL players to tear it up on our grounds,” Cr Brett Owen said.
The opening bounce at Holm Park will be at 1:00pm.
Entry is free for Richmond members. Activities, including kids inflatables, as well as mascots, a DJ and food will be available on the day.
