Aligned Leisure managed Eltham Leisure Centre has been awarded Aquatic and Recreation Victoria’s prestigious Facility of the Year, at a very different 2020 ARV Awards.
The Nillumbik Shire Council facility faced intense competition from quality facilities right across Victoria.
The Eltham Leisure Centre team is grateful to win this award and appreciate the efforts of ARV in continuing to provide the awards in a Covid-Safe environment.
Key highlights of this award recognition included:
- Attendance growth of 38.5%
- Membership growth of 31.1%
- Swimming lesson growth of 32%
- Net Promoter Score of +52.8
- Life Saving Victoria Platinum Pool accreditation
- Launch of various digital customer experiences, including online memberships, bookings and the new Nillumbik MOVES app.
- Programs delivered to over 1,000 students in Nillumbik schools
- Over $25,000 in funding to support Nillumbik residents experiencing disadvantage
Nillumbik Leisure Manager, Liam O’Brien said that receiving what is considered one of the most prestigious awards at ARV’s annual event, was one of his proudest achievements.
“The team has been striving for this award and it is fantastic recognition for all the hard work we have put in since we commenced in 2017,” he said.
“To achieve this award combined with the Swim School and multiple staff awards shows we genuinely have an outstanding team.
“Our focus on the customer, the development of our people and our innovative community programming has enabled us to achieve some of the highest growth and customer satisfaction metrics in the industry.”
Carl Cowie, Nillumbik Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, praised the Eltham Leisure Centre team for the considerable effort and recognition.
“The team at Eltham Leisure Centre significantly exceeded expectations in 2019 with outstanding growth in attendance, membership and swimming lessons. This was due to a singular focus on providing our community with the best possible experience when visiting the facility,” said Mr Cowie.
“Eltham Leisure Centre’s recognition for this award is a testament to the team and Council’s decision to award Aligned Leisure all Nillumbik Leisure Facilities in early 2020. Their performance also positions us ideally as we return to a form of COVID-Normal over the coming months.”
