Bay Pavilions Arts and Aquatics Centre have been recognised at the 2022 Aquatic and Recreation Institute (ARI) Awards of Excellence.
Aligned Leisure manages the Eurobodalla Leisure Facilities which is inclusive of the Bay Pavilions in partnership with the Eurobodalla Shire Council.
Bay Pavilions Arts and Aquatics Centre received the inaugural Community Marketing and Communications Campaign of the Year Award due to numerous initiatives undertaken throughout 2021 that contributed to promoting the brand-new facility to the community in the lead-up to the opening in June 2022.
The facility’s strong communication efforts included community engagement and activation activities, new dashboard reporting, digital analytics, first-party data targeting, and the development of campaign landing pages.
Combined, this led to incredible growth in membership, learn-to-swim enrolments, large centre attendances, and overall digital reach pre-opening.
Eurobodalla Shire Council’s Aquatic Arts Contract Coordinator, Matt Neason said that engaging the wider community prior to the new centre’s opening was a key focus.
“We felt that it was important to meet the people in the community, in the lead up to the opening of the Bay Pavilions,” he said.
“We are thrilled that this award recognises the unbelievable work our staff has done in this space and are very proud of the achievement.
“The opportunity to engage locals at events and markets, integrated with a mix of far reaching digital campaigns was really important in attracting the broad representation of members from our communities that make up Bay Pavillions today.”
Aligned Leisure’s General Manager – Operations, Simon Bryson was also recognised as a finalist at the ARI Awards in the Award of Excellence category. Simon was acknowledged for his efforts in leading Aligned Leisure’s Covid recovery across 30 aquatic and recreation facilities in Victoria and New South Wales while managing the launch of the Bay Pavilions.
