Bay Pavilions Wins Facility of the Year at NSW Aquatic Recreation Awards

Bay Pavilions Arts and Aquatic Centre, managed by Aligned Leisure, has won Facility of the Year at the 2023 NSW Aquatic Recreation Awards. This is the highest recognition within the industry, and a significant part of the reason for winning the award has been the amazing responses from the community and the social impact of the Bay Pavilions in the local area.

The Bay Pavilions has impressed through a team commitment to providing a world-class aquatic and arts experience for the Eurobodalla community. The centre features a variety of facilities, including a 25-metre lap pool, a warm water pool, a gym, water slides, a splash pad, a theatre, a gallery, and studios.

Bay Pavilions is more than just a place to swim and workout. It is also a community hub, where people of all ages and abilities can meet and connect with arts and creativity, aquatics, health and fitness. The centre offers a wide range of programs and activities, including swimming lessons, aqua aerobics, fitness classes, art workshops, and theatre performances.

Bay Pavilions has had a significant social impact on the Eurobodalla community. It has created jobs, boosted the local economy, and provided a place for people to come together and connect. The centre has also been instrumental in promoting healthy lifestyles and community well-being.

The Facility of the Year award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Bay Pavilions team. They have created a truly unique and special place that is loved by the Eurobodalla community.

Winning the Facility of the Year award from the Aquatics Recreation Institute is not only an honour but a testament to the unwavering commitment of our local community. The passion and dedication that brought this incredible facility to life are now reflected in the daily smiles and happiness of our patrons as they step through our doors. As one of our older members aptly put it, “this place really has changed my life.” This recognition from ARI is a heartfelt acknowledgment of the transformative power of our community. Thank you for celebrating our collective achievement.

Chris Tague, Bay Pavilions Arts and Leisure Manager

Beyond the facility itself, two of Bay Pavilions’ own, Katie Stammers and Lachlan Knight, were recognised for their individual contributions. Stammers, nominated for ‘Duty Captain of the Year,’ and Knight, in the race for ‘Emerging Leader of the Year,’ exemplify the passionate dedication of the Bay Pavilions team.
