The students of Cardinia Life’s Swim School embraced the opportunity to participate in a fun-filled end-of-term Swim School Carnival on Sunday, April 2nd.
The Carnival saw over 170 swim school students attend the event varying in age and ability, there was something for everyone.
Whilst the 25-metre races were of a more structured and formal competition for our advanced students, the program pool saw our younger and less experienced swimmers become just as competitive supported by their favourite teachers. The ‘Lucky Duck Scramble’ proved to be the most popular event, with students all aiming to find the one lucky duck out of the fifty in the pool!
Participants who came 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in each event took to the podium and were awarded a ribbon and a treat, which proved to be very popular for winners and for their families who were snapping photos proudly of their children receiving their race ribbons alongside their friends.
The excited buzz within Cardinia Life’s aquatic space from participants, and their adoring supporters saw everyone smiling from start to finish.
Cardinia Life’s café team provided healthy and yummy refreshments for all attendees to refuel after their races.
The carnival was a fun afternoon out for local families, and a great way to introduce young children to competitive swimming in a fun, safe and supportive environment.
“I had the best fun…can we do this every month?” one excited participant said.
“My youngest was very nervous but really enjoyed the activities in the program pool, and the teachers were so helpful,” a parent said.
“This event has been our highlight of attending Swimming so far.”
Cardinia Life is looking to introduce this event twice a year moving forward in the hope to see even more families joining next year.
Managed by Aligned Leisure, Cardinia Life includes a gym, group fitness classes, creche facilities, multi-purpose indoor sports courts, and year-round aquatic facilities.
Aquatic facilities at Cardinia Life include a 25-metre indoor pool, warm water program pool, and toddler play pool. All pools are wheelchair accessible, providing access to everyone regardless of age or swimming ability.
