Over the Easter weekend, the Aligned Leisure managed Nillumbik Leisure Facilities raised a bumper $6,889 for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal with a family fundraiser day.
The Good Friday Appeal supports The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne to provide world-class care for sick children.
The Nillumbik Shire Council’s Eltham Leisure Centre, Diamond Creek Community Centre and Diamond Valley Sports and Fitness Centre hosted a range of exciting family activities on Good Friday, including Zumba Classes, Fun Aqua Activities, and Jumpshots activities.
The events ran throughout the morning, with Eltham Leisure Centre hosting an activity for everyone, from a Group Fitness Masterclass to Fun Child Care and Face Painting.
The funds raised on the day came from entry fees, raffle entries and the donation of membership joining fees for people who signed up in recent weeks.
The proceeds donated to the Royal Children’s Hospital will support projects in the following areas:
- Ground-breaking research
- State-of-the-art equipment and technology
- Patient and family-centred care programs
- Fostering staff excellence through education programs, scholarships, and fellowships
Aligned Leisure was proud to partner with The Good Friday Appeal, with Nillumbik Leisure Manager Kathryn Williams delighted with the turnout on the day.
With thousands of children and families relying on The Royal Children’s Hospital to provide essential care and treatment to their loved ones, The Good Friday Appeal is such an important cause to get behind in our local communities.
Kathryn Williams, Nillumbik Leisure Manager
“We had an exciting morning of events planned across the three centres and it was great to see such a strong turnout, allowing us to make a significant donation of almost seven thousand dollars to support the great work of the hospital.”
