Community embraces Bay Pavilions

Batemans Bay’s brand-new indoor aquatic and arts facility, Bay Pavilions, has had a hugely successful first summer of operation.

Managed by Aligned Leisure, the Eurobodalla Shire Council centre provides the local community with state-of-the-art leisure facilities including an indoor pool, alongside a theatre that attracted over 4,500 visitors to its performances this summer.

The Bay Pavilions team worked hard to support over 93,000 visitors in the three-month summer period, which is significant for a local community of only 17,000 people.

The summer festivities were so successful that the centre hit capacity four times, requiring a lockdown of entry to the centre, where patrons were happy to line up and wait their turn to enter.

Eurobodalla Arts and Leisure Manager, Chris Tague, was immensely proud of his team’s success.

We received great feedback about the Bay Pavilions and what it means to the local community, and whilst our teams could have had reason to stress throughout the summer period, they shone and were outstanding in their performance to keep up with the patronage.

Chris Tague, Eurobodalla Arts and Leisure Manager

“The local community really embraced the new facilities, and it is a great addition to the Batemans Bay area. It is such a great delight that this asset is now a part of this community’s summer activities.

“Thanks certainly goes out to all of our patrons, and we look forward to seeing them return in the coming weeks, months and beyond.”
