The Diversity and Inclusion in Leisure Forum 2023 was held on Thursday, 9th February 2023 in Melbourne. Organised by Aquatics and Recreation Victoria, the event brought together leaders from the aquatic and leisure industry with the aim of promoting collaboration towards inclusion.
Aligned Leisure was proud to play a role in the event as part of the Advisory Panel. Our representative, Jacqui O’Dwyer, served on the coordinating committee as well as a mixture of team members across the different Aligned Leisure sites joining her to demonstrate Aligned Leisure’s commitment to diversity and inclusion in the industry. ‘At Aligned Leisure, we understand the importance of diversity and inclusion in the success and growth of the leisure industry,’ said Jacqui. ‘By participating in events such like this, we demonstrate our commitment to promoting these values and working towards a more inclusive and diverse future for our industry.’

The event featured engaging Ted-style presentations, followed by a workshop designed to facilitate resource sharing and promote industry-leading evidence-based programs from various organisations. The objective was to gather valuable information and insights that will shape future events aimed at promoting diversity and inclusion in the leisure industry.
At Aligned Leisure, we believe that a diverse and inclusive future is essential for the growth of the leisure industry. Our involvement in the Diversity and Inclusion in Leisure Forum 2023 is just one of the ways we are demonstrating our commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the industry.
Through the Club’s Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan, Aligned Leisure aims to foster a culture of inclusion by celebrating and connecting with diverse and marginalised communities.
