Eltham Leisure Centre is proud to announce it received the Swim and Survive Licensee of the Year Award at the recent Life Saving Victoria Awards of Excellence.
The Centre was noted for its demonstrated advocacy, innovation and success in partnering with organisations and groups to give Nillumbik and broader community members the opportunity to learn vital swimming and water safety skills.
Since its inception, Aligned Leisure has focused on developing critical partnerships through the structure and delivery of its programs and services. The Swim and Survive Program is a vital component of this and combined with a focus on improving the customer experience, the program has seen dramatic growth and incredibly high customer satisfaction results.
Liz Tesone, Manager – Swimming and Water Safety at Life Saving Victoria said that Eltham Leisure Centre should be commended for its numerous learn to swim programming strategies.
“They were a clear stand out when awarded the Swim and Survive Licensee of the Year award at Life Saving Victoria’s Awards of Excellence this year.
“In addition, a number of the strategies they have successfully implemented were new for the learn to swim industry including the progression commitment and Little Wonders program.”
These strategies have seen program growth exceeding 32% in 2019 as well as over 1,200 students participating in school learn to swim programming.
Nillumbik Leisure Manager, Liam O’Brien said that the staff at Eltham Leisure Centre and the broader Aligned Leisure team were proud to receive the award.
“Its outstanding recognition for our Swim School team following a busy year and considerable effort to connect with the Nillumbik community. We look forward to reopening Eltham Leisure Centre to and further educating the community to be safe in and around water,” he added.
