The Yuin Theatre at the Bay Pavilions is proud to present our inaugural theatre season. The season is full of laughs, drama, wonder and fun.
Audiences will be treated to a diverse range of the best Australian and International performances, including family shows, musicals, heart-warming stories, theatrical plays which will make you think, world-class musicians, cabaret, and much more.
The 2023 Yuin Theatre Season features 16 national and international productions that tell the story of Australia’s past and present, inviting the patrons to connect with our history and future. The stories are told with passion and energy. Additionally, the 2023 season contains some of the best music performances from Australian artists, who have also had international success.
Eurobodalla Mayor Matthew Hatcher said that the experiences within Bay Pavilions will be named to acknowledge local culture and history.
The Yuin Theatre – set to host a range of wonderful productions for the 2023 season – is named for the traditional custodians of the land we now know as Eurobodalla.

Bay Pavilions Arts and Leisure Manager Chris Tague added that the facility was proud to be able to launch a fascinating program of performances in the Yuin Theatre in their inaugural year.
The Aligned Leisure team, along with Eurobodalla Shire Council, are proud to cultivate arts and culture in the Eurobodalla region with a diverse and compelling performance program for our community this coming year.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE UPCOMING SEASON:
- 16 different shows with on high quality Australian productions and music.
- Range of genres throughout the season with something for everyone.
- For Families we have the wonderful production of Are We There Yet. This CDP production brings the joy and wonder of Alison Lester’s classic book to life.
- The Multi- awarding winning cabaret performer Catherin Alcorn brings her most iconic role as The Divine Miss Bette to the Yuin Theatre’s stage. After sell out seasons at the Sydney Opera House and on Broadway, this outrageous performance backed by an all-star 7 piece band and dancers will have you dancing and singing throughout this thrilling concert experience.
- Wallflowering, by award winning Australian Playwright, is a delightfully amusing and poignant play about the nature of marriage, the pursuit of happiness and the perfect foxtrot!
- Lior and Domini bring their intimate and harmonised storytelling, which is underpinned by intricate guitar.
- The Grigoryan Brothers. Acclaimed guitarists Slava and Leonard Grigoryan have created a suite of music inspired by objects personally selected from the National Museum of Australia’s vast collection tracing Australia’s diverse and complex history.
- A real highlight of the season is The Sunshine Club. This first nations musical Set in 1946, tells the story of Aboriginal soldier Frank Doyle, who is just returning home to Brisbane after serving in WW2, to find that, while the world may have changed, the same attitudes and prejudices still exist at home. But this only fills Frank with a strong desire to change things for the better by setting up The Sunshine Club. A place where all people are welcome to come together, laugh, romance and dance the night away as Frank sets out to win the heart of Rose, the girl from next door. The Sunshine Club is a gloriously energetic, thought provoking and above all entertaining night of theatre.
- The 2023 Sydney Theatre Awarding Wining The End of Winter focuses on our world. Will climate change erase winter leaving it to exist only in fairy tales, paintings, and historical accounts? In hot, bushfire-prone Australia our winters are becoming warmer and shorter. The End of Winter is about loss and resilience. It’s about the places one can search for cold weather —places that can be reached via public transport and the imagination.
- Bite Club features Brisbane’s award-winning cult-cabaret mischief-makers, circus stars, and heart-stopping hooligans Briefs Factory, as they join forces with much celebrated and sainted songbird Sahara Beck.
In an event sautéed in a hedonistic haze, guests will be treated to a shotgun wedding and table settings of music, circus, drag, burlesque, theatre, and comedy.
Described as one of Australia’s most arresting performers, Sahara Beck’s soaring vocals will blast female pride power into the ferociously fierce displays of talent from the BRIEFS boys you know and love. Their slick tomfoolery and heart-stopping hooliganism will be bathed in suave synth, heady hooks, and swelling strings, all set to a glorious pop pulse. - The Yuin Theatre will also offer four performances within our highly popular Morning Melody Program
